Shahar Dayan has been working in the global agriculture industry for the past 20 years after graduating from the Hebrew University with a B.Sc. Agriculture. He commenced his career at Haifa Chemicals where he worked for 11 years, first as an R&D agronomist for CRF and Soluble Fertilisers and then as a Business Development Agronomist and Marketing Manager for SEA – Pacific and the Israeli market. Ending with a position of BU (ILS) Managing Director. For 6 years was involved in the irrigation industry as Europe-Desk Manager for metzer, dealing with commercial and marketing of this territory with strong affinity for products development and agronomy. Shahar is currently Head of Crops and Sustainability at Netafim, in charge of the strategic crops team, a highly trained and professional group of agronomists , working with the core-business crops such as sugarcane, rice, deciduous orchards, tropic/subtropic and greenhouse crops. A significant part of his position today is dealing with sustainability issues, especially carbon credits and life-cycle analysis of various crops. Sharhar is 45 years old and married with 1 child.
