Jacques Smith obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in soil chemistry from Stellenbosch university in 2013. After his studies he worked as a Research technician for the department of Agriculture Western Cape with a primary focus on conservation agriculture practices within grain and pasture systems. The past 9 years he has worked as a researcher and agronomist for Yara Africa Fertilizer. He is passionate about data driven results and customer engagement to promote profitable and sustainable crop nutrition solutions. His expertise lies in optimizing nitrogen use efficiency (NUE) in grain crops. He has been involved in several research projects focusing on soil fertility and nutrient management strategies within grain systems in the Western Cape. With his expertise and dedication towards regenerative agriculture, he is eager to make a positive contribution towards farmer prosperity, soil health and the environment.
